Ukraine International Airlines is to begin an expanded summer schedule from London Gatwick to Kiev from 4th July. The addition of afternoon services on Friday and Sunday are designed to add more flexibility and convenience for passengers.
British Airways (BA) is to start a twice-weekly service between London Gatwick and Cancun from November and will be the only direct route between the two cities by a scheduled airline.
BA already serves Mexico City from London Heathrow using a Boeing 747 aircraft and will now operate the Gatwick-Cancun route using a three-class using a B777.
The 11-hour flight is to commence on 3rd November, departing Gatwick at 1245 and landing in Cancun at 1745, with the return flight leaving Mexico at 1915, landing back in London at 1015 the next day.
The industrial action started by Unite on 24th May has now come to an end.
British Airways are working hard to return their schedule to normal. Please do not go to the airport unless you have a confirmed booking.
All flights into and out of London Gatwick and London City airports are operating normally.
There is currently civil unrest in West Kingston and in other areas of the Jamaican capital. A State of Emergency limited to the parishes of Kingston and St. Andrew remains in place.
British Airways cabin crew have begun a five-day strike, in a resumption of industrial action in their long-running dispute over jobs and pay. The disruption is expected to be confined to some flights in and out of London’s Heathrow airport.
Following the appeal outcome over turning the High Court injunction, Unite has announced that it will not strike before Monday 24th May 2010 - start dates for the strike action have not been confirmed.

Unite’s plans for strike action has been stopped by a High Court Injunction.
British Airways have now announced the short haul schedule for 18th May to 23rd May 2010. During the first period of strike action their plan is to operate the following:
• All flights at Gatwick will operate as normal as will flights to and from London City airport during the entire strike period. Normal conditions of carriage will apply for these flights.
• At Heathrow they intend to operate more than 60 per cent of long haul flights and more than 50 per cent of short haul flights in the first strike period and they will add to this schedule where they can.
• They will operate a number of daily flights to every destination across their short haul network.
• All BA Cityflyer, code-share, franchise and OpenSkies flights will operate as normal.
Spanair is launching extra summer time routes from Edinburgh and Birmingham to four Spainish destinations.
Virgin Atlantic is to add Manchester to its Las Vegas operation from April 2011. The twice-weekly service will operate on a Thursday and Sunday using a Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
